I am finding that I have a growing fixation for head pieces. They enthrall me and these Windy Freda designs just feed my obsession!

These dresses are stunning in all their vintage-y loveliness! Yes please!

Find them here.

Espying Elegance

Okay, I am no artist, but this artist's studio could sure fool me into thinking I could create anything.

Yeah...see what I mean?
It is beyond incredible. I totally want one. Even if to just sit in it and think happy thoughts.

Pretties on which to sit yourself :)

This bedroom is gotten to only
through this hallway.
I think this is a fantastic way to separate the master bedroom from everything else. It allows for privacy while still accessible. Brilliant idea!

Good morning

The stunning large window, high ceiling, and wood plank floor have me falling in love with this kitchen!

With my sister's wonderful wedding now taken care of, my father, mother and youngest sister went to Maine this week. My father's family owns a house up there which they have had in their family since at least the 1920's. My father would summer there every year while growing up and extended that tradition to taking his own family there for a week or two as often as possible. I was able to go last year but could not this summer so I am posting pictures of gorgeous Maine to remind me...

The sunroom of the summer house.

Gorgeous Kennebunkport! Our favorite little town to visit every time. It is the most picturesque area you have ever seen!

Carolina Herrera

I have a good friend who is getting married in late September and this stunning Carolina Herrera gown is what she is going to wear. J, you are going to glow in this.

Look at the delicate sleeves! They are so pure and simple and even delicate but then they lead down to a very solid silk front and fuller skirt line. I love the contrast!

Oooh! So I had to post a picture of this fabulous bed because it is almost precisely like the bed I have now. (Bought mine this past year at the now deceased Bombay Company. May it rest in peace.) The headboards are a bit different (mine is curved) and the moulding is slightly different, but essentially it is very similar! The four posters plus the slats on top---the possibilities are endless! All through middle and high school I had a four-poster bed (it was my parent's old one) and I think they are sooo classic. I want to play around with different fabric and hang it in really creative ways around the slats on top---but right now, since I live in a tiny row home, the tiny chandelier light fixture in my bedroom actually hangs in between two of the top slats! So my artsy (or attempts at) ideas will have to wait. :)

Dear PT Cruiser Owner/Front Lawn Stretcher,

This morning as I crawled through the morning commute rush hour I noticed you on your front sidewalk waving your arms sideways and around. For a moment I worried that something was wrong and you had gone out to the side of the street to flag someone down...until I realized that you were stretching. Walking back and forth next to the street you were warming your muscles and stretching your legs, much akin to Michael Phelps before a swim. Have you been watching the Olympics? Fascinating, isn't it? Anyway, once I determined you were okay I just sat back and enjoyed your display of limber-ness...along with with the rest of your car-encased audience. Thank you again for the smiles.
Sincerely,
Me

Espying Elegance

A light and airy Arcadian home. It has doors and windows spread throughout to take advantage of any cross wind, making the entire home a giant breezeway.

Buckles make me go wild.

Is this not a most cozy kitchen? Though it is warm outside I cannot help but picture myself curled up in one of those red chairs and sipping hot cocoa!

Topsy Turvy Design is a fabulous hat designer and sells her creations on etsy. I love that she focuses on millinery from the past and creates hats that Marie Antoinette would pant over. And look at the gorgeous photos! They make me want her designs even more!

This little accessory is beyond adorable and could be worn easily with a glammed-up outfit for a night out. I am still arguing with myself about buying this---I guess I don't need it but I sure want it!

I thought I would start out the day with this stress-free bathroom in which I desperately want to be soaking in a bubble bath!

Put your sunglasses on...

Okay, I promise no more posts about wedding bands after this one! But once I started looking there was no turning back. I could wear any of these brilliant bands. *sigh* Diamonds really are a girl's best friend. Or at least her best crush...
