A diamond in the rough
This home has so much potential for elegance! The chandeliers are breathtaking and the rooms are bright! It just needs a warm touch of classy decor and it would be a gem!

and the question on my mind is always, "so what will I wear?" I guess that also extends to Mr. C. of whom I ask a similar question ("so what will he wear?") :)

Isn't this the sweetest desk you have seen? A dark brown/black in color that folds out oh so nicely. I would pen many a letter here! And the accents around the desk, such as the gorgeous mirror and old lantern add to the charm. There are even fresh flowers atop it! What a dream!

Exposing Etsy
An elegant Etsy shop! Oh the designs and creativity of Bonzie just blow me away! They have shrugs and collar detailing that add a dramatic flair to anything. My favorite has to be the first shrug below...beyond gorgeous. Yes please!

I have tried lately, through my countless searchings for homes, decor, and fashion, to stop and look at the details. Particulary because sometimes I may not be in love with the whole picture of a room but I can find details that I find to be stunning. So in the next few pictures I tried to pick out such minutiae :)
1. The gilded ivory mirror. The detail makes it hard to pull your eyes away.
2. The light blue paint. Adds a calmness to the room while also allowing other colors to pop.
1. The built in shelves/cases over the window. Brilliant use of space and a great way to display items you don't need on a daily basis.
2. The overhead lights. What a charming detail. It gives the room a more rustic even (in my opinion) nautical look.
3. The tiny windows above the long windows/french doors. The more panes, the better!
This room makes me smile.
1. The dark wood floors and wide planks. Scrumptious.
2. The dark wood bookcase that is jammed with books.
3. The windows, which you will notice have a latch that allows you to open it up outwards.
1. The reddish paint color. Bold but set off nicely with the white bedspread and white moulding.
2. The beaded side table. Just so sweet and adds an antique feel to a more modern bed.

Espying Elegance
This gothic style home is elegant but also eclectic with its mixture of old and new. But by far what caught my eye about this abode is its BEDS. Oh they are simply amazing. Jaw-drop worthy indeed. Enjoy! (and don't salivate on your keyboard too much :)
I love the old world charm and antiquity!

The Good...and the not...so good...
The FANTASTIC news:
On Wednesday night, for the first time ever, I cleared a low jump while riding a horse. It was the first time I had ever jumped and it was a success! Needless to say I was overjoyed at this new development. I even did a second jump. It was the most exciting thing I have ever accomplished.
(the picture above is of course not me (I wish) but I cleared a jump as high as the lowest pole in the picture)
The Not so Fantastic news:
As I attempted to do a third and final jump my horse decided that she didn't want to and swerved sharply to the left of the jump. I was crouched in as good a 2-point position as I could, ready to jump, but the sharp swerve threw me hard to the left and I crashed to the ground, landing on my back/left side. It was raining hard and yet I laid there, on the sand, for a good 15 minutes before I could move any part of my lower body. I was twisted oddly and my trainer said that I had hit my head extremely hard (thank goodness for helmets) and she thought at first that was why I was not moving. It took another 15 minutes to stand and then I couldn't stay standing for more than 2 minutes without fainting.
Long story short (too late!) I somehow got myself home (I think I was a bit in shock) and have been in tons of pain. I can hardly walk and even sitting is uncomfortable. But it could have been worse. I have never fallen off a horse so I suppose it was high time that I did ;) My trainer assured me it was nothing that I did wrong--my horse just got stubborn and refused to jump. I am actually more anxious to get back on because I want to continue the great streak I was having until the fall. And I am not going to let it scare me. All riders fall off occasionally and I am just hoping to now count myself in with a more experienced crowd ;)

Espying Elegance
A light and cheerful African-style home. The residents are Phyllipa and David Marrian, both artists. Their eye for color and style is apparent throughout the home.
Notice the weave rugs covering the floor and the barn-style door that is split in half. Charming!
A cozy living room full of handcrafted items.
More radiant white and a glass-bead chandelier that reflects even more light.
A cozy guest bedroom. The mosquito net above is, I am guessing, a necessity. But it adds such charm! I am also liking the light blue and grey hues.
Ah yes, and a splendid bathroom (with a clawfoot tub of course!) An African paradise!
