My sister's wedding day. All four of us girls. There are three other bathrooms in the house. There could be fifty. We would still all cram into one. This one. With enough curling irons, straightners, and hair dryers to blow fuses throughout the house, dancing along to blasting music and laughing so hard that our mascara runs. Just like always.

Creature Comforts Challenge

The marvelous blogger Creature Comforts sent out a challenge to put together an outfit you would wear out shopping with your girlfriends. I picked these items with a few things in mind:

1. To stay with the theme of a day out with the girls I had to find a balance between comfort and style. As much as I envy those who can pull it off, I am not a tennis shoes and tee shirt kind of girl. Again, I envy women who can look simply elegant in the most casual of clothes (i.e. pajama pants, flip flops, etc.) but alas I am not so lucky. Thus, a casual day out would probably include a feminine black shirt and dark jeans with dangling jewelry of some kind.

2. I tried (really hard) to think comfort. Again, I am really good at not wearing the most comfortable of clothes---especially shoes. I believe my feet are somewhat mangled from years of wearing shoes that, although beyond cute, would make a podiatrist faint. Thus, I included flats in my outfit to reach beyond my heel fetish and allow for a day of lots of walking.

3. Lastly, to also keep within the confines of the challenge, I was aware of price. This was supposed to be a price-friendly outfit.

The grand total of my outfit: $112.69

So, Ez (Creature Comforts) how did I do?

I am sighing over this rustic cabin complete with a stone fireplace. Give me a book and a blanket and I would be good all day!

Espying Elegance

This house (aka palace) is stop-your-heart-beating-because-it's-so-pretty gorgeous. It is regal and situated on a lovely estate. The rooms, opulent in their size, are furnished sparsely by whoever lives there now but I wouldn't overdo the decor anyway because the house itself deserves all of the attention!

Maine Envy

A few more pictures from Maine. My family had a great time there and the weather was fantastic. Can you tell I wish I could have gone? ;) So to alleviate my sighing I am posting three last pictures.

Playing dress up

For those of you with a guy in your life, do you find yourself wanting to dress him up all the time? Maybe I have a disorder because I never played with dolls as a little girl but I love getting clothes and outfits for my Mr. C. Despite his often fight or flight response (usually its flight) I beg him to let me put together outfits for him. I spend more money buying clothes for him than anything else. There is just so many fun things out there I can dress him up in! So many looks, so many styles! He could carry any and all of them off although, like I said, he fights it. Sooo, I just wondered if anyone else ails from this constant desire to dress their guy up. Because I have it bad and poor Mr. C. bears the brunt ;)

Espying Elegance

This sea cottage is so adorable that it almost hurts. It is simple and yet elegant in its attention to detail and design. The windows throughout are probably my favorite.

This sitting room is the crowning piece. Look at the windows! I also love the subtle hues of yellow and blue. I adore those two colors together but they can be overwhelming if used in large quantity. In this room the color scheme of these two colors is perfection.

A few snapshots from my sister's wedding two weeks ago. Two words capture the entire event: simple and sweet. It was wonderful.

of buying overly adorable things even if you don't own a pet...

I stumbled onto this adorable accessory store for the trendy dog or cat. Their products are sweet and simple and they made me start believing that I was sure my puppy was in need of one of their cute stuffed animals...or maybe a blanket...or a new collar...

I want to snuggle up with one of these!
